Sambaran Das (b.1980) completed his Masters in Visual Arts in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University. He was a Fellow artist at the Kanoria Centre for Arts from 2006 to 2007. He has participated in exhibitions that include Art Bengal Now, a Group Exhibition presented by Gandhara Art Gallery and Dhoomimal Art Centre, Delhi, 2020, 3rd International Multidisciplinary exhibition organized by Santaran, Chittagong, Bangladesh 2017, Multimedia Works, a Group Exhibition presented by Birla Academy of Art and Culture 2015, Beneath the Black a Group Exhibition at Gandhara Art Gallery Kolkata, 2014, Dhaka Art Summit in 2014 presented by Akara Art, Other Visions, Studio 21 Gallery, Kolkata 2010, “Hyphenated practices” Emerging artists show at Vadhera Art Gallery, Delhi, 2009.

Sambaran paints, initiates and participates in public art interventions and creates graphic novels. His major collaborative comic and illustrated book projects include Gandurmundu, Taranath Tantrik Passing Show and Prankrishno Dutto Pronito swatik o swachitro Bodmaesh jobdo. Sambaran occasionally writes on matters of art. He was the editorial coordinator for ‘artEAST, a Contemporary Art Magazine’, published from Kolkata. Sambaran lives and works from Kolkata.
