MOUTUSHI CHAKRABORTY

Moutushi Chakraborty (b.1975) pursued her education in Graphic Arts – Bachelor’s degree (1998) from Visva-Bharati University and Master’s degree (2000) from M.S. University Baroda. In 2002 she was awarded the Commonwealth Foundation Fellowship. She received the Charles Wallace India Trust Award for Visual-Arts which funded her second Master’s degree in Advanced Printmaking from Wimbledon School of Art. She is also recipient of the Lalit Kala Akademi Award. In 2019 she held her third Solo exhibition ‘The Homeland’ at the India International Centre, New Delhi. Other important exhibitions include Print Out Times – 2021 Taoyuan International Print Exhibition at Taiwan,   Print Meet – International Printmaking Exhibition by Trakya University and the 1st International Letter Art Exhibition, Gaziantep University (2020), The Nest – online group show with Anant Art Gallery (2020); India Art Fair – Engendered Art Gallery booth (2020); Pluralism – contemporary Prints from India, Metropolitan State University of Denver (2018); Text as Text (Part II) Art & Soul Gallery, Mumbai (2018); Mapping Frontiers organized by Kalakriti Art Gallery Hyderabad (2018); Written on Water – Gallery Beyond, Mumbai  (2018); Always Room For Love – Art Centrix Space, Delhi (2018);  1st Print Biennale New Delhi (2018); Women: Yesterday, Today & Tomorrow – Art Konsult, New Delhi (2018); India Inked travelling exhibition (2017 – 18) at multiple venues in the US and Canada; Busan International Art Fair – South Korea (2017); Poetics of Plurality – SITE Arts Space, Baroda (2016); Women’s Project – Kashi Art Gallery, Kochi (2015); Memorabilia at Sumukha Art Gallery, Bangalore (2014) ); Parables – visual essays Solo exhibition at Gallery Time & Space, Bangalore (2012).
