Aditya Basak, born in 1953 Kolkata.
Education: Govt. College of Art & Crafts, Kolkata, 1977.
Awards: National Award,1986, State Award, West Bengal,1987, Senior Fellowship from Ministry of Human Resource & Development, 1998.
Group Shows: More than 100 group shows in the country including participation in National Exhibition, Bharat Bhavan Biennale, State Academy, Birla Academy, CIMA. Indian Triennale of world Art, Celebration 50 years of India’s Independence, Toronto, Singapore, 1998.
Participated in group shows in London, Hong Kong, Germany, New York, Bangladesh and other countries.
Solo Exhibitions: Several shows in important cities in India and New York.
His two video films include, Chronicles and Death foretold.
He is a Member of Society of Contemporary Artists (SCA) since 1984.
